Agents in any niche of realty are required to establish a brand on social media. In fact, many would say it’s your job to be a marketing expert and to build an audience to sell real estate to.

Sean McPeak of SERHANT., marketing coach Giselle Ugarte and Atlanta area Realtor and TikTok star Glennda Baker spoke at Inman Connect Las Vegas about their strategies for building an online following, getting more views on listings through social media and leveraging a personal brand that will win over clients and build career lasting fans.

Creators are rising, but they don’t have to be on a reality TV show to gain clout. Here are 10 key messages these influencers shared that will help you connect with your community.

  1. A professional camera crew is not necessary to make an impact. Personal videos can be a big impact on your local community.
  2. You can make yourself an influencer by embracing your personality and using it to ignite your content.
  3. Communicate your truth with your audience and keep your eyes on the customers that matter most to you. Film content as if you were having a conversation about real estate with your best friend.
  4. Be prepared for feedback, but don’t be discouraged. You can make your content reach a wide audience with a few minor tweaks.
  5. To ensure you are able to manage your online persona professionally, you might need to invest more in marketing and coaching.
  6. You can research the top social media trends and incorporate them into your content planning.
  7. Overexposure: Be clear about your brand and determine how much content you create from your heart.
  8. Your audience will be drawn to authentic truths and stories. Your superpower will be story-telling.
  9. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from other industry leaders. Make sure you make the right choice.
  10. Don’t criticize other influencers. Stick to what you know. Do not create content that is too personal.

Agents who want to build their personal brand must start by getting on video. Check out these TikTok or Youtube tutorials. You should be focusing on one social media platform, and you must hold yourself accountable for it. Take a look at the video and make notes. You may become the next big influencer of real estate sooner than you think.
