Old Dominion reaches its 10th place in the Top 10 list Billboard’s Country Airplay chart as “Memory Lane” lifts to No. On the list dated June 3, 10 was listed. Luminate reports that in the week of tracking ending on May 25, the single grew by 5%, reaching 17.4 millions audience impressions.
The song was co-penned by the quintet’s Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi, with Jessie Jo Dillon (Whit Sellers and Geoff Sprung round out Old Dominion’s lineup). It’s from the act’s four-song EP Memory Lane SamplerIt was released in the month of January.
Old Dominion ranks in the Country Airplay top 10 for the first time since “I Was on a Boat That Day” cruised to No. The band will release a new single in November 2021. The band’s 10 top 10s include seven No. 1s, most recently “One Man Band” for a week in December 2019. The group’s second of 17 Country Airplay entries, “Break Up With Him,” became its first leader in November 2015.
On the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Country Songs survey dated May 27, “Memory” rose to a new No. 16 best. In the United States, it sold 1,000 copies (up 3%) and drew an official stream of 15 million (up 5%).
Old Dominion was named group of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 11, 2011. The fivesome will be performing at Nissan Stadium, Nashville on June 10, during CMA Fest.
‘Last’ Still First
Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” controls Country Airplay for a fourth week (33.7 million, up 2%). It marks the second of his nine leaders to rule for at least that long, after “You Proof” reigned for 10 frames starting last October, the longest command in the chart’s 33-year history.
Sheeran ‘Goes’ Country
Pop superstar Ed Sheeran’s “Life Goes On,” featuring Luke Combs, arrives on Country Airplay at No. The song is at No. 59 with 484,000 views.
Sheeran has two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s among nine top 10 songs. 1s among nine top 10s on the Billboard Hot 100, it’s his second time appearing on Billboard’s country charts; his single “Don’t” received unsolicited airplay and spent a week on Country Airplay, also at No. 59 in 2014.
Sheeran and Combs performed “Life Goes On” on the ACM Awards on May 11. Despite this, both artists continue to climb the country and pop airplay charts simultaneously (dated 3 June) with their other songs. Sheeran’s “Eyes Closed,” the lead single from his new LP, ranks at highs of Nos. 2 and 8, respectively, on Adult Pop Airplay and Pop Airplay, while Combs has two tracks in the top 15 on Country Airplay: “Fast Car” zooms 21-14 as the chart’s Greatest Gainer (13.1 million in audience, up 43%) and “Love You Anyway” holds at its No. 15 best (12.8 Million, up 14.4%).
