What is a keep room? How to capture this kitchen trend’s essence

Open-plan kitchens are my favorite. They combine social and functional spaces. It allows chefs to be present in the kitchen with guests and makes it feel more like a family. I was immediately enamored by the concept of ‘keeping rooms’ when I saw it. 

While keeping rooms may have historical significance, there’s an updated version that’s growing in popularity.
